The kickoff event takes place on National Pizza Day from 5-9pm at Soprana. and is open to the public. Guests are invited to enjoy food, drinks, mountain views, and the chance to meet several of the pizza makers participating in the week. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Bounty and Soul, continuing WNC Pizza Week’s tradition of pairing celebration with community support.
Later in the week, WNC Pizza Week continues with events like the Hot Slice Contest on Thursday, February 12 at Twisted Laurel in downtown Asheville, where local celebrity contestants compete by eating progressively spicier slices, with proceeds benefiting Meals On Wheels and a charity selected by the winner.
