Founded in 2012, Wildsam is a story-driven American travel brand.

Wildsam creates field guides for towns, cities, national parks, road trip regions, and pursuit-specific destinations (think: wine-lover’s guide to Napa & Sonoma).

Each guide is made by regional writers and editors featuring art by local illustrators, offering memorable stories and historical anecdotes beyond the eat-drink-stay-do itineraries of regular travel guides.

THE WORK

As Wildsam’s first marketing director, Catherine worked closely with the founder and editor-in-chief to develop GTM strategies for multiple product launches, created sales materials for the field sales teams, and drove content marketing across top funnel channels (website, email, social).

THE RESULTS

  • Launched 9 products in less than 12 months

  • Earned mainstream media coverage during launch & holiday press campaigns

  • Created multiple partner activations, including LOGE, The Drayton Hotel, AutoCamp, The Strand, Outdoor Voices, and actor Kyle McLachlan

  • Led strategic content & SEO development of new Amazon sales channel

In addition to day-to-day marketing for DTC and wholesale channels, Catherine traveled to different regions for market-focused product launches in Savannah, Boston, Cape Cod, and Colorado. These launches included hosting in-person and virtual events, partner activations, conducting wholesale meetings, and paying our established stockists a visit to check in and refresh merchandising.

From emceeing an award-winning author reading outside an art museum, to transforming the interior of a coffee shop, to hosting a s’mores-and-stories fire pit party under the stars in Breckenridge, and documenting favorite spots across Martha’s Vineyard, Catherine’s Wildsam work embodied the brand’s slogan: The world was peopled with wonders.
