OFTB Welcomes Bev’s Steak
Black Mountain has quietly become one of the most interesting food and beverage destinations in Western North Carolina, the kind of place people increasingly build an entire day around before heading back to Asheville, and Bev’s Steak is part of that momentum.
Recently named one of the hottest new steakhouses in the country by Eater, Bev’s brings a much anticipated approachable fine dining experience to downtown Black Mountain, just 20 minutes from Asheville.
The restaurant, housed downstairs in a 1920s building on Cherry Street, offers a dark and cozy “speakeasy” atmosphere. The menu blends Asian influence with classic steakhouse energy, serving koji-marinated steaks, North Carolina sourced beef, game meats and creative cuts, cocktails, seasonal specials for an experience that feels refined without losing its sense of homegrown warmth.
Chef and co-owner Jake Whitman, who named the restaurant after his grandmother Beverly, has spent years leading some of the region’s most respected kitchens (Pure & Proper, Copper Crown, The Admiral, Native Kitchen), while co-owner Ali Whitman brings a strong hospitality and operations background as well as art expertise that shapes the experience front of house. Together, they’ve created a restaurant that feels polished, personal, and deeply connected to the region they call home.
We’re excited to welcome Bev’s Steak to One For The Books for PR representation and media strategy as they continue building regional and national visibility.
